Spin- S impurities with XXZ anisotropy in a spin- 12 Heisenberg chain

We study the effect of anisotropy spin-$S$ impurities on an antiferromagnetic SU(2) Heisenberg chain. The magnetic are assumed to have XXZ-type anisotropic exchange with their neighboring sites. First, using density-matrix renormalization group technique, we examine spin-spin correlation function, instability N\'eel order, and local spin susceptibility in presence a single impurity. Based results, find that types classified into two groups: (i) nonmagnetic $S=1$ enhance only short-range (ii) $S=\frac{1}{2}$ $S>1$ can, contrast, stabilize long-range order disordered Then, focus case impurity as representative investigate evolution some experimentally observable quantities such magnetization, specific heat, susceptibility, function concentration XXZ strength confirm is induced bulk chain finite amount easy-axis impurities. Furthermore, recover aforementioned features cluster mean-field theory, which allows us present results accessible at temperatures.
